Doué la Fontaine’s BIOPARC welcomes 1 200 animals from 120 different species. 41 of these species are on the IUCN’s Red List of threatened species (International Union for Conservation of Nature), classified such as Vulnerable, Endangered or Critically Endangered. Twelve of our species belong to this last group, which lists the most endangered species in the world. The other species of the BIOPARC are amongst the Near Threatened or Least Concern group. Thirty-six of our species benefit from European programs of population management (EEP) that ensure their long-term survival in captivity.
